Avis offers current model year vehicles, and plenty of free perks that you might pay for with other agencies: Unlimited mileage, free pick-ups from the Anchorage downtown location, and the option of a one-way drop-off. The mileage and drop-offs are big advantages in Alaska, for travelers who want to do an epic road trip without having to retrace every step just to return the car. There are also no extra fees for renters ages 21-25.
Avis offers a variety of corporate rates and association discounts, and frequent flier miles with Alaska Airlines if you rent at the airport. Like most rental agencies, Avis does not allow you to drive on unpaved roads.

Rates vary with season, duration, and car category, based on 24-hour rental day. All rentals include 8% Municipality of Anchorage car rental sales tax, 10% State of Alaska Car Rental tax, gasoline, extra hours. Rentals at the airport add 11.1% Airport Tax, and Airport Facility charge of $6.50 per day.
