The Chugiak / Eagle River area is home to many great trails, including the Eagle River Nature Center. If you are interested in a guided hike, Go Hike Alaska can pick you up from your front door and get you out on the trails on foot and in snowshoes! Tours range from 2-5 hrs.
Chugiak / Eagle River to Palmer / Wasilla

Today you'll be making the trip from Chugiak / Eagle River to the MatSu Valley.
The Palmer/Wasilla area is perfect for some iconic activities this time of year. Visit the Matanuska Glacier or local trails by ATV or Jeep. Both Alaska Backcountry Adventures and 49th State Motor Tours can help you with transportation from Loft in the Clouds.
If you'd like to spend some more time in Palmer / Wasilla for sightseeing, prearrange to have AK Tripping or Escaping Anchorage pick you up and show you the sights. Both companies are willing to hang out while you go on an excursion, explore, shop and/or dine on local cuisine. You could also make a stop at the Musk Ox Farm or Reindeer Farm to see some Alaskan wildlife up close.
Head back Eagle River to grab dinner and on to the Loft in the Clouds with another chance to see the lights.
Chugiak / Eagle River to Anchorage with possibility of Girdwood

Wake up and get ready to take a guided tour from Loft in the Clouds either around Anchorage or down to Girdwood. Choose from stops along the way in Eagle River, Anchorage, and/or Girdwood. If you want to see wildlife up close, check out the 140-acre Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center just 11 miles past the Girdwood turnoff.
If you missed exploring Anchorage on your first day, today is the perfect opportunity. Get an in-depth picture of the city and state at the Anchorage Museum, or visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center for a dose of history and culture. And of course, don't forget to do some souvenir shopping before heading home!
