Day 1

Fly to Juneau

1 View on Map

Enjoy your direct flight from Anchorage or Seattle into Juneau. Once you get settled, your first outing should be to see Alaska's capital city from above. Hop on the Goldbelt Tram and skim the tops of spruce trees as you ascend to the top of 3,819-foot Mount Roberts and enjoy breathtaking views. A great way to get a lay of the town (and stretch those legs after your flight) is a guided bike tour. You can also go panning for gold (and keep what you find!) and learn about the history of gold mining here.

Day 2

Day & Overnight in Juneau

2 View on Map

Enjoy a full day in this gorgeous city that's surrounded by towering peaks. You'll find some fun options for whale-watching, bear viewing, or dog sledding, or a spectacular flightseeing trip! And definitely don't pass up the opportunity to see one of Juneau's main attractions -- Mendenhall Glacier. You can raft or kayak, or hike right on the ice!

Day 3

Fly from Juneau to Sitka

One look at the map and you'll see why it makes sense to fly from Juneau to Sitka: It looks far away, but it's just 40 minutes by plane. Take a morning flight with Alaska Airlines or a smaller jet company like Alaska Seaplanes and you can maximize your day here. Then get out on the water! Immerse yourself in the amazing scenery with a sea kayaking trip; tours are 3 hours long and there are multiple tours each day. If you have some extra time, explore the rich culture of this small town in the museums, historical sites, or the Sitka National Historic Park.

Day 4

Depart from Sitka

It's your final day, and you'll be flying from Sitka back to Seattle or Anchorage. Depending on your flight time, you can squeeze in one of the activities from yesterday you didn't get to try!
