Driving is the quickest way to travel between Seward and Whittier, and it offers maximum flexibility. The route follows the Seward Highway, one of Alaska’s most scenic drives, before connecting to the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel—the single-lane passage into Whittier. Along the way, you can stop at scenic pullouts, hike short trails, or visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center near Portage.

By Bus

Motorcoach service takes a bit longer but offers a stress-free ride, with someone else handling the twists of the Seward Highway and the timing of the Whittier tunnel. Large windows give you sweeping views of Turnagain Arm and the Kenai Mountains. The Park Connection motorcoach operates daily between mid-May and mid-September.
