This tour provides a variety of experiences, all in five glorious Alaska days. Your adventure includes glamping at a lakeside outpost, capturing solitude on a private island, and enjoying sumptuous meals at a deluxe lodge, all with gorgeous views of remote Alaska. You’ll fly over glaciers and volcanoes, fish and float Alaska’s wild rivers and explore its lakes by kayak. There’s time built in to relax, too. Sip a glass of wine while watching for wildlife, or take a leisurely stroll along a wooded trail. Can’t get enough? You can customize your trip with an extra day or two.
Day 1 - Anchorage overnight
The day prior to your adventure, arrive in Anchorage and you’ll be put up for the night at a partner hotel, complimentary. Get yourself to Anchorage and you’ll be taken care of from there!
Day 2 – Welcome to Wilderness Place Lodge
Depart Anchorage @ 4pm by float plane and enjoy an hour-long flight-seeing tour of the Ring-of-Fire within the Tordrillo Mountain Range. View dormant volcanoes, glaciers and sheer mountain cliffs. Following your tour, land on a scenic remote lake and taxi to the dock of Solitude Mountain Retreat. Here you will enjoy a peaceful evening all to your lonesome at the cabin on a 4-acre private island. Enjoy an evening kayak around the lake and soak in the silence with a glass of wine on the covered front porch. Watch for moose and enjoy the call of the loons!
Day 3 – Full-day Fishing
Depart Solitude Island Retreat at 8:30 am by float plane and arrive at Wilderness Place Lodge approximately 9am. Spend the day fishing for trout and/or salmon on the river with your personal guide. Enjoy a 4-course dinner in the lodge provided by our professional chef team inclusive of local beer and wine. Overnight in one of the modern deluxe riverside cabins.
Day 4 – Ultimate Glamping at Pioneer Cabin Wilderness Retreat
Depart the lodge after breakfast for a short 10-minute flight north and land on a small lake at the dock of the Pioneer Cabin Wilderness Retreat, the ultimate in Alaska glamping! Enjoy a full day of kayaking on the lake, relaxing at this historic refurbished Alaskan log cabin, walk the trail down to the river and fish, etc. Overnight at the cabin. Food and beverages are provided. Cook your own meal over the firepit, or on the gas grill. Enjoy the call of loons on the lake!
Day 5 – Float and Fish
Following breakfast, your guide will inflate the raft and you will have the day to float and fish your way back down to Wilderness Place Lodge. The float trip is approximately 5 river miles with lunch served on the river mid-day. Arrive back at Wilderness Place Lodge mid-afternoon, hit the showers, have a beverage and prepare for your float plane flight back to Anchorage at 6pm.
