This high-energy restaurant at the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge offers some pretty laid-back pursuits. Sit out on the deck and watch rafters float down the Nenana River while sipping Denali Red, a beer brewed specifically for Princess by Alaska Brewing Company. Or dig into a gourmet burger while soaking up late-afternoon sunshine and views of the National Park and Healy Mountains. Of course, the inside of the restaurant is pretty nice too—with big windows and a happening bar with flat-screen televisions.
The bar and grill is open daily from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. and serves tasty pub fare in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. It’s a great option for a late lunch—the large menu includes burgers, fish and chips (made with fresh Alaskan cod dipped in an Alaska Amber beer batter), sandwiches, and soups/salads. The dinner menu adds some entrees, like the marinated and charbroiled petite sirloin steak.
There’s a large appetizer list and drink menu as well. Try the salmon dip or the reindeer sausage stuffed mushrooms. If you want a specialty cocktail, you’ll find Alaska Distillery vodkas infused with Alaska blueberries or cranberries. There’s even smoked salmon-flavored vodka, which is the base for a mean Bloody Mary.
