Fly to a Remote Lagoon

Take the 15-minute helicopter ride from the inn’s sister company, Marathon Helicopters, out to this intimate one-bedroom yurt on the banks of gorgeous Bear Glacier Lagoon, near Kenai Fjords National Park. Surrounding you are huge icebergs, snow-dusted coastal peaks, pristine wilderness, and absolute silence—save for the occasional rumble of an iceberg and the joy of Alaskan birdsong.

Cozy Getaway

Designed for two people (or a small family with a young child), the inn makes for the perfect romantic getaway. It’s completely private—the closest neighbor is a quarter-mile away—and the only people you may see are an occasional kayaker. An innkeeper will be on-site if you need anything.

Inside the cozy yurt you’ll find a queen-size bed and small seating area. There’s also a kitchenette with a small propane stove, cookware, utensils, and basic essentials, along with a cooler provided by the inn (you’ll bring your own food along on the helicopter). Outside, there’s a deck with chairs and a hot tub to soak in after a day of exploration. It’s perfect for relaxing as you gaze out to the massive icebergs and towering peaks, keeping an eye out for eagles, harbor seals, bears, and mountain goats. In summer, a dazzling display of wildflowers bursts forth, adding new pops of color to the spectacular setting.

Heli Adventures

Spend your days exploring the area, or choose an add-on from Marathon Helicopters for some unforgettable flightseeing. Rent the chopper for 1 to 3 hours and go hiking in a remote area or land on a glacier, where you’ll set down at the glacier’s toe and explore on foot.
