Filmed over more than a decade, this award-winning film takes viewers from breaching humpbacks and swirling herring schools to the secret worlds of plankton and nocturnal seabirds that sustain the entire ecosystem. Guided by filmmaker Ben Hamilton’s personal narration and years of exploration, the film becomes more than a wildlife story—it’s a search for wonder, and an invitation to see Sitka with new eyes.

Supported by partners like the Sitka Sound Science Center, the project was filmed entirely in Sitka, capturing moments that define the region’s wild character.
Exclusively Playing in Downtown Sitka
Sitka’s Hidden Wonders plays from May through September 2026 at Harrigan Centennial Hall in downtown Sitka, Alaska. The venue is conveniently located at the cruise shuttle drop-off and near many popular tours and attractions, making it easy to visit during your time in town.
Screenings are held in an intimate theater setting with seating for approximately 50 guests. The facility is ADA accessible and includes public restrooms for visitor convenience.
