Completed in 2017, this former muddy turnaround offers the town’s most famous photograph, the stately, ordered buildings of Fort William H. Seward against the towering backdrop of the Chilkat Mountains; it’s a scene that stops dead in their tracks first-time visitors arriving from the ferry terminal. A grassy lawn, sheltered picnic tables, barbecue pits, restrooms and a walking trail make this lookout a perfect picnic spot.
