GoNorth Alaska Car & RV Rental

Whether you’re looking for a car or an RV, GoNorth offers a unique advantage: You’re allowed to drive their vehicles on all public roads, including gravel roads, which isn’t the case with many Alaskan rentals. Choose from a wide array of vehicles—truck campers, motorhomes, 4x4 SUVs, trucks, and vans—all of which come with no road restrictions. In fact, GoNorth, which has been in operation for over 25 years, is the only company in Alaska that rents truck campers.

The lack of restriction on gravel roads means that you’ll have the freedom to explore some of Alaska’s most scenic roads, like the Denali Highway, Dalton Highway, or McCarthy Road.

Another perk of renting from GoNorth is that they offer one-way rentals between all of their stations, which are located all the way from Anchorage and Fairbanks to Whitehorse and Seattle. You could start your road trip in Seattle and drive up to Anchorage or Fairbanks in spring. Or enjoy the fall scenery as you drive south from Alaska to Seattle (special deals available in pre- and late season).

Tips to save money:

The rental price depends on the age of the vehicle - save money by choosing an older but very well-maintained vehicle.

Special deals – GoNorth offers spring and fall one-way specials as well as Military, AARP, long-term and repeater discount. Regularly check the website to catch a Last Minute or a New Vehicle (Relocation) Special. GoNorth rewards early bookers with a discount – secure your spot early and safe money.

  • 4×4 Truck Campers. GoNorth is the only Alaskan rental company offering these vehicles, which can sleep up to three (though two is recommended) and include a full bathroom, fridge and freezer, and stove/oven.
  • 4x4 Scout Adventure Truck Campers. Recommended for two adults, these vehicles are designed for adventurers and perfect for off-grid camping—they even come with a cooler box and a stove.
  • Motorhome MC4. These comfortable vehicles sleep up to four people—ideally two adults and two children—and are the right choice if you don’t plan on driving much on gravel roads.
  • Motorhome MC6. This larger motorhome sleeps up to five people (though is recommended for two adults and two children) and features a full bathroom, fridge and freezer, and stove.

The convenience kits contain the respective items you need for your upcoming adventure (dishes, kitchen utensils, bed linen, towels). You're ready to go as soon as you pick up your vehicle! Maintenance and cleaning have highest priority at GoNorth.
