On the north side of the park along the edge of the Chena River, Canoe Alaska providing one of Fairbanks’ few, outdoor family adventure activities. Canoe Alaska rents kayaks, canoes, and bicycles for half-days, a day, or by the week.

Canoe Alaska’s most popular adventure is a 2-hour float from their store, down the Chena River to the Pump House, a National Historic Landmark with a restaurant, saloon, and a deck that overlooks the river.

Canoe Alaska is a popular destination for locals looking for a leisurely afternoon float, and for visitors looking for a unique view on Fairbanks life. Longer paddling trips are also an option depending upon your skill and interests.

The cove at Canoe Alaska is also a popular destination for locals on hot, Fairbanks summer days. (Did you know that Fairbanks can reach temperatures in the 90’s during our endless summer days? Fairbanks has even recorded temperatures as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit!)
