Easily identified by its long tusks (up to 3.3 ft & 5.5 lbs each) and thick face whiskers, the Walrus is a giant of the north. Males can reach weights of 4,400 lbs and females are usually 30-40% smaller. The Walrus' skin is nearly devoid of fur and is up to 4 inches thick over a 6 inch layer of blubber.
