Dodecatheon jeffreyi
Primulaceae/Primrose family
Jeffrey's Shooting Star grows in wet meadows, streams banks and bogs. The leaves are lance to spoon-shaped, blunt, and have smooth margins. The flowers are showy and sit on top of the leafless stem in few-flowered clusters that display deep-pink petals, which sweep back from the white and dark center. It generally does not have the yellow ring visible like the Pretty Shooting Star.
