Elephant Seal

Also known as Sea Elephants, the Elephant Seal is sometimes seen in Alaskan waters. They get their name from a bulbous protrusion from the front of their heads that has a similar appearance to the trunk of its namesake. They spend over 80% of their lives in the water and can hold their breath for nearly two hours thanks to exceptional amounts of blood that provides extra oxygen-carrying capacity.
