Black Bear

The Black Bear is one of the most widespread animals in Alaska. It's an opportunist when it comes to eating so it has been able to adapt itself to many climates and food sources. Here in Alaska you may see 'blackies' feeding on grass and dandelions today, salmon tomorrow, and perhaps garbage the next day. When humans take care of refuse properly bears mosey on to other food sources and are able to cohabitate the same areas quite comfortably.
