Wheelchair-accessible 12ft x 14ft (3.6 m x 4.26 m) Pan Abode cabin with 10ft x 18ft (3 m x 5.5 m) addition, wrap-around deck, walkways to outhouse, floating dock.

Facilities

2 single plywood bunks with trundles, 3 single plywood bunks, Wooden table and benches, Wood stove, Broom, Fire ring, Outhouse toilet, Woodshed (wood provided), Splitting maul, Dock, Skiff and oars (NO personal flotation devices provided). Water available from stream behind cabin. Treat all water before using.

By float plane 10 miles (16 km) east from Wrangell.

Terrain

Relatively flat around cabin, large meadows near Porterfield Creek; steep mountains around parts of lake.

Special Features

Mill Creek trail, .9 mile (1.4 km), from beach at Eastern Passage to Virginia Lake outlet. Portage opportunity to lake. No developed trail from lake outlet to cabin Brown bear, black bear and moose Cutthroat trout, Dolly Varden (May - Oct); sockeye salmon (Aug - Sept) Sand beach in front of cabin. NOTE: Expect other users on lake due to easy access and distance from Wrangell.
