Whether you’re in the market for fishing lures, rain gear or just snacks for the day, this convenient location on the Harborview Boardwalk—right across from the Little Mermaid restaurant—is your one-stop shopping spot.
From Fishing Lures, Snacks, Clothes & Camping Supplies
This cozy satellite branch of Ulmer’s Drug & Hardware carries the highest demand products for your Homer Spit adventures. The extended hours and daily deliveries from the main store in Homer make it a convenient place for campers, fishermen, and tourists alike.
If you’re heading out for an early morning fishing trip, pick up bait, lures, and jigs, as well as your Jackpot Halibut Derby ticket if you’re feeling lucky. Sightseers will find clothing, rain gear, boots, gloves, and hats, along with over-the-counter medications, sunscreen, and binoculars.
If you’re camping on the Spit you can get sleeping bags, stoves, utensils, paper products, ice, snacks, water, and sodas. Since this is an offshoot of a hardware store, it also has handy items like hammers, tarps, and bungees. You’ll not only find those little essentials you forgot to pack, but also those things you didn’t need but now will cherish.
Homer locals know Ulmer’s as the friendly store that has a little bit of everything (the bigger branch also has a pharmacy, art supplies and made-in-Homer gifts). While the main branch of the store is open-year round, Ulmer’s on the Spit opens in April—often for the Kachemak Bird Festival—then stays open daily through Labor Day. It is open from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm daily and can arrange for deliveries from the main store for products you might not see on the shelves of the tiny offshoot.
