An epic oceanfront wilderness experience, on the beach in stunning Seldovia Bay, Alaska. Your hosts, Scott and Janet Ogan will help you taste the exhilaration of a true Alaskan experience in their off-grid, hand-crafted lodge. It's a small, family run intimate experience. Their motto:
Relax - In an Oceanfront Treehouse Lodge
Explore - The Kachemak Bay Archipelago
Discover - Renewed Family Connections
Accessible only by water, a couple miles from the quaint village of Seldovia, the lodge features two unique cabins—one of them Alaska’s only oceanfront treehouse—and a chance to get away from it all in, authentic Alaskan style.
The Experience
You can choose one or both of the cabins, making Treehouse Cove perfect for all kinds of intimate, small-group escapes, like weddings, honeymoons, and engagement getaways, or quality family time. The host-owners, Scott and Janet, stay in the original fisherman’s cabin on the property and prepare and deliver meals to the cabins. Captain Scott will expertly cook any fresh fish caught or he will procure red salmon (in season) from local a net-setter right at their dock. Their new 28' aluminum landing craft awaits to help you experience the splendor of Kachemak Bay, Cook Inlet, and the Gulf of Alaska. Captain Scott has over 30 years of experience in these waters.
The Accommodations
Eagles Nest Treehouse
Alaska’s only authentic oceanfront timber-frame treehouse offers a truly unique experience in the Alaskan wilderness. The almost 400-square-foot platform—which can sleep up to 4 people— is half-enclosed, with a half-open deck, built between two Sitka spruce trees with a rushing stream underneath. There’s running water, an indoor and outdoor propane heaters, and a compost toilet on the deck. It’s well appointed and very comfortable.
Captain’s Beach House
This hand-built, timber-framed cabin sits just steps from your own private beach, with a large covered deck that’s perfect for lounging. A larger space than the treehouse, the beach house features a sleeping loft with a queen and single bed, plus another queen and single bed on the main floor. There’s an indoor compost toilet and hot shower, plus a full kitchen with hot and cold running water.
