This looping set of trails about five miles long intersects the Three Lakes Loop Road 10 miles out of town, and then again 20 miles out. You can also reach them by hiking the Ideal Cove Trail up from Frederick Sound. A three-sided shelter at the middle lake makes for a good rest spot or overnight stay. There are trout in each of the three lakes and rowboats are provided for public use. Deer, beavers, bears and sometimes sandhill cranes can be spotted here.
