Customize Your Stay
Your journey begins with a flight to Ketchikan, followed by a scenic floatplane transfer to Whale Pass. You’ll be immersed in the Alaskan wilderness, surrounded by old-growth forest, wildlife-rich waters, and dramatic coastal scenery.
You’ll bask in the casual elegance of the lodge with private rooms, along with rejuvenating wellness and spa experiences. You’ll also enjoy exciting activities and personalized guidance from experts who know this coastline intimately.
In fact, you can enjoy the full complement of Coastal Alaska’s adventures. Enjoy great viewing outings to see abundant wildlife, like bears, whales, porpoise, and birds. Travel by boat to a glacier (and even arrange for a flightseeing tour over it). Head out on excursions like sea and lake kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, limestone cave exploration, and remote beach cookouts.
You’ll also benefit from the lodge’s decades of experience guiding fresh- and salt-water fishing excursions targeting Alaska’s most famous fish: trout, salmon, halibut, lingcod, black cod, sea bass and rockfish. The team processes your catch, then portions, labels, and flash-freezes it so you can take it home. Every outing is customized—and you can adjust plans as you go.

About The Lodge at Whale Pass
The Lodge at Whale Pass was founded in 2004 by Kevin and Lyn Ryter. Before that, they enjoyed a financially rewarding career and two young kids, but lacked the time and knowledge to plan the luxury wilderness vacation they wanted. So they set about to create a world-class destination for others like them—the select few who know what they want and have the resources to get it. Their joy comes from relieving you of all the burdens of travel and optimising all the rewards. The Lodge at Whale Pass, a top exclusive destination in Southeast Alaska, is still run by Kevin and Lyn, with considerable assistance from their son Lucas.
