Pybus Bay on southeast Admiralty Island

Location

The cabin is about 1/2 mile (1 km) north of Donkey Bay in a protected cove within Pybus Bay on southeast Admiralty Island.

Access

Access is by float plane or boat. It is about a 1.25-hour flight from Juneau or 30 minutes from Petersburg. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. High tides are recommended to reach the cabin. There is no mooring facility.

Terrain

The cabin sits back 50 yards (46 m) up a hill from the beach.

Special Features

You are in brown bear country. A game trail to Donkey Bay is accessible at high tide. There is a lot of seasonal commercial fishing activity in Pybus Bay. The end of the bay has large tide flats. This is a popular cabin for hunting.
