1 double plywood bunk, 1 single plywood bunk, Sleeping loft, Table and 2 benches, Oil stove (#1 diesel), Cooking counter, Broom, Outhouse toilet, Mooring buoy, No water source on island. Closest water source Baranof Island stream about 1/2 mile (.8 km) from cabin by boat. Treat all water before using.




Baranof Island


On a very small island about 30 miles (48 km) north of Sitka in Fish Bay on Baranof Island.


25-minute float plane flight or 1 1/2-hour boat ride from Sitka


Cabin nestles just inside forest fringe above sandy beach.

Special Features

Large sandy beach, wildlife viewing, saltwater fishing and crabbing, and deer hunting in season. Brown bear frequent the area.

Mooring buoy available on first-come, first-served basis for boat anchorage. Buoy available to either cabin users or general forest users. Firewood not provided for campfires. DO NOT leave any food when vacating the cabin. Pack out what you bring in. Cabin built in 1994 by volunteers from U.S. Coast Guard and group of local Sitka residents.
