Boat or plane, 24 miles (39 km) from Petersburg

Mostly flat muskeg; 776ft (236 m) hill between bay and Kah Sheets Lake (Lake at 100ft (30 m) elevation).

Special Features

The name Kah Sheets derived from Tlingit term "by the fisheries." Excellent steelhead, trout, sockeye, coho and pink salmon fishing. Bear, grouse, and waterfowl hunting. Spring bird migration viewing on tide flat in bay. Easy 2.75 mile hike to Kah Sheets Lake on boardwalk trail. Two access trails lead to Upper and Lower Falls. Hiking on remains of old logging roads.

Fuel for the oil heater (#1 stove oil or kerosene only), sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
