How to Steam

This technique involves placing seafood above simmering water to cook. It is best for delicate seafood species and portions.


  • Prepare Chinese bamboo steamer basket by soaking prior to use

  • Bring water/seasoned liquid to a boil

  • Place seafood inside the steamer

  • Place the steamer over the pot of boiling water and cover. The cooking process usually takes 10 - 12 minutes. The fish will be opaque throughout

  • Top with a sauce of your choice
