Dall Sheep

The Dall sheep (originally Dall's sheep), Ovis dalli, is a species of sheep native to northwestern North America, ranging from white to slate brown in color and having curved yellowish brown horns. It can be observed feeding along highways throughout the state, most typically in very steep and rocky terrain. The Dall sheep is surprisingly graceful as it scales near vertical cliffs. Don't forget to look up as you travel in mountainous terrain because you never know when a group of sheep will make their appearance.
