This is a large A-frame cabin with a loft.
The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, is heated with a woodstove and has an outside toilet. Fire wood is provided in a wood shed at the salt water beach. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils.
The cabin is on the western shore of Church Bight, a small cove within Gambier Bay on southeast Admiralty Island.
Access is by float plane or boat. It is about a 1-hour flight from Juneau or 30 minutes from Petersburg. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. The steep beach provides a good boat anchorage. There is no mooring facility.
The cabin sits back 50 yards (46 m) from the beach, as shown below.
You are in brown bear country. There are large tide flats within the bay. This is a popular cabin for hunting.
