Open playfield, nature trails for walking in the summer and trails may be packed by volunteers for skiing and skijoring in the winter. This park is a great place to enjoy nature within an urban setting.

History

Baxter Bog originated when a group of residents took a community school class on how to plan a park. It was described as a peat bog with the only natural lake in east Anchorage. A 5 acre site next to Baxter Bog is known as Pfleiger Park as the land was donated by Mr. Pfleiger.
