Founders Mollie and Sean built Arctic Hive by hand and now operate it as a wilderness retreat and education center. The center itself is only accessible by foot fromWiseman—a town located between the Gates of the Arctic National Park and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. You’ll be driven from Fairbanks and will need to hike in for about a mile.

Cozy, Off-Grid Cabins

You’ll stay in one of four cozy off-grid cabins heated with Swedish Nordic oil stoves that serve up views of mountains and possibly the northern lights. Adome with 18 feet of panoramic windows acts as the main lodge, where you’ll enjoy meals around a big wood stove.

All-Inclusive Retreats

All retreats begin with a scenic, guided 7-hour drive along the Dalton Highway fromFairbanks. You’ll cross the Arctic Circle before arriving in Wiseman.

Harvest of the Heart

Hiking and yoga (for all levels) come together in this 4-night/5-day autumnal retreat. Begin each day with an optional yoga practice, then head out on gorgeous guided 3-8 mile hikes to visit waterfalls and historic cabins, taking in mountain vistas along the way. You’ll also experience an Equinox ceremony to release summer energy and set your intention for the winter ahead.

Winter’s Womb

This 4-night/5-day women’s yoga retreat is set around the winter solstice when there’s a good chance of seeing the northern lights and takes place during polar night, when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon. Enjoy 1 or 2 yoga practices each day, as well as the opportunity to learn dog mushing and take part in other outdoor winter activities. You’ll have space to reflect on this self-led transformation amid the stillness and beauty of the Arctic.

ReWild

Arctic Awakening Learn to Mush Retreat

Embark on an intimate 3-day, 4-night dog-mushing retreat with a maximum of 4 guests. You’ll learn how to mush with your own sled dog team, including harnessing, feeding, steering, and caring for these amazing dogs. You may even be able to mush into the stunning Gates of the Arctic National Park. No experience is necessary—just a bold, eager spirit.

Paws to Peaks

Combine dog mushing and backcountry skiing/snowboarding in Alaska’s Brooks Rangeon this 5-day, 4-night winter adventure retreat designed for experienced skiers/riders. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. You’ll learn hands-on dog mushing, including harnessing, steering, caring for, and running your own team. Then mush through spruceforests, across frozen rivers, over mountain passes, and possibly even travel into theGates of the Arctic National Park.
