A Day on the Water

Go fishing with the pros out of Seward and experience the thrill of reeling in iconic Alaskan fish aboard the M/V Sea Quest, a 46-foot catamaran unlike any other in town. The Sea Quest is the only charter vessel in Seward with an upper viewing deck, giving you the perfect spot to enjoy lunch or take in the breathtaking scenery while watching the action below.

A favorite among locals, the Sea Quest stands apart as Seward’s largest and fastest charter boat, allowing you to travel farther and reach the best fishing grounds quickly. Its catamaran design provides a wider and more stable ride than traditional boats, ideal for comfort and for those prone to seasickness. Inside, relax in a spacious heated cabin with comfortable seating for everyone, tables, and provided coffee and tea.

When it’s time to fish, you’ll head out with Captain Sean Carlin, owner of Alaska Northern Outfitters, or Captain David, both seasoned professionals who share a deep passion for Alaska’s waters and the thrill of the catch. Using only top-quality rods, reels, and tackle, they’ll guide you to the region’s richest fishing areas. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer, they’ll ensure an unforgettable day on the water.

Depending on the season, you might be targeting massive halibut, silver salmon, or colorful rockfish. On select days when halibut fishing is closed, you’ll explore the Kenai Fjords National Park, combining wildlife viewing and rockfish fishing for a truly unique experience. As you return to shore, your crew will fillet your catch on board and walk you to the dock, where you can have it vacuum-packed, frozen, or shipped home.

Recently recognized as the 2025 Best of Alaska winner for Best Fishing Charter, Alaska Northern Outfitters prides itself on offering every guest expert guidance, exceptional service, and a truly world-class fishing adventure that captures the unmatched beauty of deep-sea fishing in Alaska.
