Itinerary
Your adventure begins with a 10:30am floatplane departure from Anchorage. During the 70-mile flight to Wilderness Place Lodge, watch for Denali rising above the horizon on clear days. Touch down in time for a chef-prepared lunch at noon, then head out for an afternoon of fishing with your personal guide. Depending on the season and what's running, you'll target trout, grayling, pike, or salmon. Back at the lodge, settle in for a four-course gourmet dinner with local beer and wine before retiring to your modern riverside cabin for the night.
Start with optional morning fishing if you'd like. At 11:45am, lift off for the return flight to Anchorage (landing around 1pm). Rust's Flying Service will shuttle you to the Lakefront Hotel, where Alaska Helicopter Tours picks you up at 2:20pm. You'll drive north through scenic country to Alaska Glacier Lodge—about an hour from Anchorage. Your 4:30pm helicopter tour departs from there, featuring two glacier landings and a dogsled experience on the upper glacier. The views of this massive ice field are phenomenal. After your flight, enjoy a complimentary dinner at the lodge before your shuttle back to the Wildbirch Hotel in Anchorage, where your room is ready and breakfast vouchers are waiting.
Fuel up with breakfast at the Wildbirch, then check out by 11am. From here, you're free to explore more of Anchorage, continue your Alaska travels, or catch your flight home. You'll need to arrange an Uber or taxi for the ride to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
