By boat or float plane, 22 miles (35 km) southeast of Wrangell.
Sitka spruce, western hemlock, scattered cedar, muskeg. Gentle slope from cabin to bay. Nearby Aaron Creek tideflat has extensive grass sedges, wildflowers. Slopes gentle around cabin; become steep in surrounding area.
Aaron Creek Trail; 4 miles (6.5 km) from Berg Bay to Berg Creek; first 0.4 mile (0.6 km) of trail to grassflats surfaced with boardwalk; Berg Creek Trail, unmaintained 4-mile (6.5 km) trail from mouth of Berg Creek to Berg Basin Brown & black bear, moose, mountain goat on surrounding ridges, waterfowl, grouse, ptarmigan Pink salmon (mid-July to mid-Aug); silver, chum salmon (Aug-Sept), steelhead (April-May) in nearby Aaron and Oerns Creek; crabbing in Berg Bay and in saltwater in front of Aaron Creek tidal flats Wildflowers prominent on Aaron Creek grassflats (May-June)

What To Bring
#1 fuel oil, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cooking stove, lantern, pots, pans, plates, utensils, food, toilet paper, garbage bags, fire extinguisher and fire starter. It's a good idea to bring your own water.
Oil heater (#1 stove oil only)
Partially covered front porch has a wooden cooler box for food storage. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. Space heater does not have cook top or oven. Can be used for food warming, but not for high temperature cooking
