Granite Tors Trail

Difficulty

Difficult

This 15-mile loop is well worth the moderate to strenuous hike. This trail provides views of tors, unusually shaped outcroppings that were formed 70 million to 90 million years ago when molten rock pushed upward and cooled before reaching the surface. The granite formations were exposed by the erosion of the surrounding earth creating the towering spires that are visible along the trail. These tors attract hikers, rock climbers, photographers, geologists, and berry pickers in search of blueberries.
