Rustic style 12ft x 14ft Pan-Abode log cabin.

Facilities

2 single plywood bunks, 2 double plywood bunks, Table and benches, Wood stove and firewood, Cooking counter, Food cupboard and shelves, Broom, Outhouse toilet, Wood shed, Axe, maul and wedge, 14ft aluminum skiff with oars and NO life jackets. Water is available from nearby creek. Treat all water before using.

Location

20 miles (32 km) north of Ketchikan within the Naha River drainage, at the north end of Patching.

Access

Float plane. May be inaccessible in fall, winter and early spring due to frozen lake surface (float planes cannot land).

Terrain

Old-growth cedar, Sitka spruce, and western hemlock rain forest.

Special Features

Beautiful site where the Naha River flows from Chamberlain Lake into Patching Lake. No trail to Chamberlain Lake. Resident cutthroat trout in Patching and Chamberlain Lakes. Sitka blacktail deer, black bear, beaver, and wolf, geese and trumpeter swans.
