Giving fresh Alaskan dishes a unique Mediterranean touch, ORSO serves lunch and dinner in a warm, Tuscan-style atmosphere. It’s an inviting place to sit and enjoy a great dinner, craft beers, wines—and to soak up downtown Anchorage’s bustling energy.
Located across the street from the performing arts center, ORSO makes a perfect before- or after-show spot—it’s also a great place for date nights. It’s also next door to a local Alaskan art gallery plus a few quaint shops to browse if there is a wait for dinner.
The staff at ORSO pride themselves on excellent service and beautiful presentation of their fresh seafood dishes. Indeed, the menu is Alaskan with a twist of Mediterranean, featuring fresh Alaskan seafood, such as Kenai select sockeye salmon from Copper River Seafoods. The processing technique they use ensures great Alaskan seafood year round. Favorites include the Chicken Parmesan Orso Style, and the seasonal Osso Buco (Braised Lamb Shanks).
ORSO’s neighbor is the Glacier BrewHouse, so you can enjoy their signature craft beers as well as a rotating list of seasonal brews. But one could argue the greater emphasis here is on wines: ORSO has an extensive wine list, and they regularly offer wine tasting dinners. Just be sure to make time, and save room, for the fabulous homemade desserts, such as the tiramisu or a molten chocolate cake
