By Road
The one-hour drive is very scenic, traveling along Turnagain Arm with the Chugach Mountains on your left, the Kenai Mountains on your right, and opportunities to see Dall sheep, eagles, beluga whales, and more. If you don't want to drive yourself, you can take a bus.
By Train
Two trains travel to Girdwood. The first departs at 6:45 a.m. and arrives around 8 a.m. The second departs at 9:45 a.m. and arrives in Girdwood around 11 a.m.
